Evaluation Question 7

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from  it to your final production?  The time management of both of my tasks were very difficult to master. In my preliminary task I spent so much time trying to make sure everything was perfect.  I spent the same amount of time in my two tasks even though my final media product was harder to produce. I have learnt a lot of new things over the course of this task but I think the main thing learned was how to use After effects and premier pro.  Without the skills I have learned from using After effects or Premier pro I would not be able to construct my media product to a high quality standard. Research and planning were essential stages of the construction of my media product and the development of my preliminary task. For my preliminary task research I looked at videos on YouTube and different film genres on google to help me construct my media product, I personally found i...

Evaluation Question 6

6. What have you learn about technologies from the process of contracting this product?  Throughout the production of my media product, I have come across a lot of new softwares and technology which I have never used before. I have expanded my knowledge on other programmes I have used before such as Photoshop, I have learnt about lots of new editing skills using premier pro and after effects.  Video editing was one of the most helpful as I can take those skills and use it to future reference when I need it.  A very interesting programme was the Adobe colour wheel, this programme helped me expand my ideas of the different colour schemes, which I could use once I started editing my media product, which helped me gain inspiration for themes.  Blogger is also a website I have never used before, it's associated with Google which allows me to publish my own personal profile. Blogger is hugely important regarding me media studies work as it contains my whole foundation po...

5. How did you attract/address your target audience? Firstly, once I began to research about different genres before I began making my film. I researched different genres and the relatable audiences to specific genres. I also looked up at websites that would help me see which films were most seen last year and what the target audience was. Researching different genres and looking at different audiences and how they match different films really helped me to decide which genre I was going for. I also watched trailers of popular horror films done in 2016; Don't breathe, The forest and The Darkness. All of this films inspired me to create a horror drama film, because of the intense shots and the adrenaline of not knowing what is going to happen next. As a teenager, I fit into my target audience, this means that I could use my initial thoughts and ideas about Horror films to attract the audience. After deciding what genre I was going for, i needed to research what other people my a...

Evaluation Question 2

2. How did you represent social groups?  The protagonist in my media product is a middle class female age 16, Black. This is all shown through her clothes and the objects on the floor. She is portrayed as innocent and weak through the use of close ups which help showing the context of my media product. The close ups also allowed me to make the audience feel sympathy towards the main character which that was my intended purpose.  She is the only character that appears in my media product so the shots had to create pressure within the audience, in order for the audience to identify themselves with the protagonist. This character is supposed to be a stereotypical teenage girl, so through the use of costume and props I was able to represent a particular social group. However, she subverts this stereotype because she appears dead in the film opening, so it gets tricky for the audience to identify wether she is a teenager or not, but the props are ...
