6. What have you learn about technologies from the process of contracting this product?
Throughout the production of my media product, I have come across a lot of new softwares and technology which I have never used before. I have expanded my knowledge on other programmes I have used before such as Photoshop, I have learnt about lots of new editing skills using premier pro and after effects. Video editing was one of the most helpful as I can take those skills and use it to future reference when I need it. A very interesting programme was the Adobe colour wheel, this programme helped me expand my ideas of the different colour schemes, which I could use once I started editing my media product, which helped me gain inspiration for themes. Blogger is also a website I have never used before, it's associated with Google which allows me to publish my own personal profile. Blogger is hugely important regarding me media studies work as it contains my whole foundation portfolio. Every piece of work or research that I completed would be uploaded in chronological oder. I have learnt the ability of using embed codes to stream technological advanced pieces of work for example; from YouTube or press and the ability to use blogger in general. YouTube was also one of the softwares that has helped me construct my media work, I was familiar with YouTube before but yet I had no idea how to upload and stream my own videos. After effects was definitely the biggest software that has helped me not only construct but improve my media work, through the process of using After effects I have learnt about the different fonts and the font effects I can use to add more dimension to my title. I have also learnt from after effects to edit a text, add a back ground or a moving image to it or how to change the themes. It was very productive working with different software's because it allowed me to expand my editing skills even further and to be able to learn about things that I had never learnt before. Filming my work involved planning, which was achieved through my storyboard/animatic, which helped me have a precise decision about what my film opening was going to be about. I have also learned how to use the editing software "Digital Premiere 9". With this, I was able to use a multitude of effects that gave my work more realism. I used a transition to reveal my opening, which made my work look more professional. Furthermore, the non-diegetic music was the most challenging piece of editing, ensuring that it fits in time with the visuals, which were constantly being refined and cut. At last, I also exported my media product on YouTube. This was very useful because it allowed for people to view our work, which is crucial for recognising the strengths and weaknesses of my media product.
