What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
I have researched before, for my secondary research, various media institutions that I thought were ideal for the genre I was going for. One of the media institutions is the Warner Bros. Time Warner Inc. is an American multinational media corporation headquartered in the Time warner centre in new York. I also thought Time Warner Inc. would be ideal to distribute my media product because it is the second largest media and entertainment conglomerate. My media product has the features that would fit perfectly into a Warner Bros Inc. film, the mysterious genre and the horror.
Warner Bros might distribute my media product because the context of the narrative is original and unique. Warner Bros have distributed many horror films and has collaborated with other institutions such as
Some of the most popular films created by Warner Bros are: Harry Potter, The dark knight and Slumdog Millionaire. Warner Bros produce and distribute a variety of films in different genres, from comedy, romance, fantasy, ,adventure, actions and horror. They are dedicated to producing a variety of films to suit different type of audiences. To guide me with my research about what media institution might distribute my media product, I have researched what horror films Warner Bros have created and whether they were successful or not.
I have expanded my researched into comparing 20th century fox and I noticed that Warner bros had produced more well-known and successful horror films than 20th century fox has. 20th century like to mainly focus on the same genre of films that give them more success (Comedy, fantasy and family) on the other hand Warner bros like to experiment with different genres and attract a wider variety of viewers. Personally, I think that warner Bros would want to distribute my media product because they like different genres and original work, they don't focus too much and on one genre and my media product has an element of that. My media product attracts mainly teenagers yet it can also be seen by other audiences to spread awareness.
