Additional Research



"Bully"
I decided to research deeper into the theme of bullying to show my understanding of the context and to have more ideas for my own film opening. I looked at various films online, I used google and film websites to help me find the best bullying films and instead of a film i found a very interesting documentary that helped me with my own ideas and gave me inspiration about different shots and camera angles.  The colours and font used in this image are very attention grabbing, the yellow and red combined create an alarming image, as if it is a warning.  The connotations behind this image is what really matters and what it conveys to the viewer.  This image captures the audience's attention straight away, it helps to convey the warning of the situation.  This additional research has really helped me to develop my ideas even further and to understand the context of different films.
Once I start shooting my film opening, the ideas and the inspirations that i got from films like this one will be seen through my use of mine en scene. 

"Odd girl out"
Odd girl out is also a film that i have seen before and inspired me and helped me loosen out my ideas even more, this film is about manipulating someone to perform bullying. This film is very basic but through the use of props and costume the audience is able to see the status difference between the characters.   The font and the image itself has a lot of connotations, the colors really remind me of a teenage girl and if is the font was cut and stuck in the image with glue. Pink is a really attention grabbing color it has the connotations of sweet, charming and feminine yet again the context of the film itself is the opposite of what the connotations mean. 



Also as I changed my idea slightly, I began to research films that were similar to the idea I had in mind. This is one of the films I found and really got me interested because the story itself creates illusion in the audience's head and makes them think beyond what they see on the screen and that is what I also wanted ti achieve with my film opening.  Image result for girl in the forest films

Evaluation Question 6

6. What have you learn about technologies from the process of contracting this product?  Throughout the production of my media product, I have come across a lot of new softwares and technology which I have never used before. I have expanded my knowledge on other programmes I have used before such as Photoshop, I have learnt about lots of new editing skills using premier pro and after effects.  Video editing was one of the most helpful as I can take those skills and use it to future reference when I need it.  A very interesting programme was the Adobe colour wheel, this programme helped me expand my ideas of the different colour schemes, which I could use once I started editing my media product, which helped me gain inspiration for themes.  Blogger is also a website I have never used before, it's associated with Google which allows me to publish my own personal profile.
