Production logo reserch


  • Before I even start my own personalised company logo for my film opening, I decided to do a little bit of research to understand more the use of a logo and what they resemble.  A Production logo is a logo used by movie studios and television production companies to brand what they produce, production logos are normally seen at the beginning of a theatrical movie.  Logos are either purely graphic or composed of the name of the organisation.  A logo is the visual identity of a company, so the design is a very important area. The design of a company logo, will represent the company as a whole, so the colours used, the font, the name has to be carefully chosen by the company funders to represent them. Colour is a also a key element in logo design and plays and important part role in brand differentiation, colours tend to have connotations and associations so when choosing the colour for the logo, it has to be very well evaluated to fit in with what they are trying to convey through the logo.  One of the company logos that I have researched about is:
  • 20TH CENTURY FOX 

The 20th century fox is a film company logo that is very timeless because throughout the years it has remained the same which can be very easy recognised and memorised but it has also changed through the years, it has been changed throughout the years to suit the modern days. The 20th century fox reminds me of  Hollywood with all the lighting used and the city in the background, the colours of the font are very significant; it resembles popularity, glam, modernity, luxurious.


Warner Brothers is very familiar production logo which is not very hard to memorise, the production logo can be used for different purposes, for example a different genre. Normally, Warner Brothers production logo has bright colours but the change of colours of the production logo, resemble the change of genre. The darker colours convey horror, and terror.  Since the 1940s the Warner Brothers production logo has changed and improved in many different ways, yet the Warner Brothers kept the same concept from the 1940's so that it would become easy for the audience to identify their logo,

Evaluation Question 6

6. What have you learn about technologies from the process of contracting this product?  Throughout the production of my media product, I have come across a lot of new softwares and technology which I have never used before. I have expanded my knowledge on other programmes I have used before such as Photoshop, I have learnt about lots of new editing skills using premier pro and after effects.  Video editing was one of the most helpful as I can take those skills and use it to future reference when I need it.  A very interesting programme was the Adobe colour wheel, this programme helped me expand my ideas of the different colour schemes, which I could use once I started editing my media product, which helped me gain inspiration for themes.  Blogger is also a website I have never used before, it's associated with Google which allows me to publish my own personal profile.
