Genre Research

DRAMA GENRE 
Drama film is a genre that relies on the emotional and relational development pf realistic characters. While drama film relies heavily on this kind of development, dramatic themes play a large role in the plot as well. Often, these dramatic themes are taken from intense, real life issues. Whether heroes or heroines are facing a conflict from the outside or a conflict within themselves, Drama film aims to tell an honest story of human struggles. 

My main chosen genre would be drama but I also have a sub-genre which is Tragedy, which fits in the drama genre. Tragedy drama is a genre wherein the downfall of the character is caused by a flaw within the character. While tragedy dramas sometime put the character in extraordinary circumstances, this genre is really about the self-destructive behaviour of the character.  Drama and tragedy are my chosen genres because I though about keeping my film opening quite realistic and believable, as I thought about Bullying it would be appropriated to keep it realistic because if I chose for example horror, it would not suit the context of my film opening since it is a real life issue.  I looked at various films to get a clear vision of what genre I wanted to do for sure, one of the films that I looked at was Titanic also based in a real life story.

Evaluation Question 6

6. What have you learn about technologies from the process of contracting this product?  Throughout the production of my media product, I have come across a lot of new softwares and technology which I have never used before. I have expanded my knowledge on other programmes I have used before such as Photoshop, I have learnt about lots of new editing skills using premier pro and after effects.  Video editing was one of the most helpful as I can take those skills and use it to future reference when I need it.  A very interesting programme was the Adobe colour wheel, this programme helped me expand my ideas of the different colour schemes, which I could use once I started editing my media product, which helped me gain inspiration for themes.  Blogger is also a website I have never used before, it's associated with Google which allows me to publish my own personal profile.
