Mise-en-scene (Denotation, Connotation.)
1. Denotation: The images of the video are quite old, and faded. The first thing I spotted was Buildings, the camera angle is birds-eye-view. The videos and images are fading one on top of the other. The colour of the images and videos are very antique and hardly clear to see. I see Guns and soldiers, people all together in just one place. the colours, The colours remain the same throughout the whole video and the images are very blurry. There is a strike happening in the video, and the police is also there. I see men in suits and important buildings.
2. Connotation: The buildings shown in this video seem very important, because they keep appearing throughout the video. The buildings might suggest an important event or place. The dark, antique and faded colours give the sensation that this event happened in the past, due to the dark colours I would also suggest that the event happening in the video might be obscure. The people standing together, with placards symbolize a strike which relates to the buildings and the people in suits. They are fighting against something. The cars and police officers again compliment the fact that a strike is happening in this video, and highlight the important even taking place.
